You own your notes, transcripts and minutes. We use them only to provide Light-Lux to you.
You're responsible for telling people you're recording and getting their consent where the law requires it.
AI-written minutes can be wrong. Check them before you rely on them or share them.
Light-Lux has a Free plan and paid plans, which renew until you cancel. Government accounts are for unclassified meetings only.
You can stop using Light-Lux and delete your account at any time.
1The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Your Roster, Inc., a Washington corporation, which operates Light-Lux ("we", "us"). They cover your use of Light-Lux: light-lux.com, the web app, the phone app, and, once released, the Mac app and browser extension (the "Service"). By signing in or using Light-Lux you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
If you use Light-Lux for an organization, you confirm you can accept these terms for it. If your organization has a separate agreement with us, that agreement controls where it differs.
2Your account
You must be at least 16. Keep your sign-in secure, use your own account and give accurate details. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
3Recording and consent
Light-Lux records from your own device. No bot joins the call, so the other people in a meeting may not know Light-Lux is listening unless you tell them.
You're responsible for recording only where you have the right to. Many places require telling people, or getting everyone's consent, before you record or transcribe them. Tell the people in your meetings that you're using Light-Lux, and follow the laws and your organization's policies that apply.
4Your content
You own your notes, transcripts and minutes. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide Light-Lux to you and the people you share with, as described in the Privacy Policy. We don't use them to train AI models.
You're responsible for what you put into Light-Lux and who you share it with, and you confirm you have the right to record and share it.
5Acceptable use
No unlawful use, and no recording people without a legal right to do so.
No harassing, deceiving or harming others, or sharing content you have no right to share.
No attempts to break, overload or get around Light-Lux's security or limits, or to access other people's accounts or data.
No copying, reselling or reverse engineering the Service.
No putting classified information or controlled unclassified information into Light-Lux, or sensitive material your organization doesn't allow in outside tools.
6AI output
Transcripts, minutes, answers and briefs are generated by software and can be wrong or incomplete, and briefs can include public information about people that's out of date. Check anything important before relying on it. Light-Lux isn't a substitute for official records, legal advice or professional judgment.
7Teams and companies For Teams
Team admins can invite and remove members, choose who can join by email domain and manage the team's templates. Minutes shared with a team stay with that team.
If you use Light-Lux for your employer, your employer may set rules for how you use it.
A Team plan covers everyone on the team, and the person who bought it manages it.
8Plans and payment
Light-Lux has a Free plan and paid plans: Pro, Team and Government. What each costs and includes is on the Pricing page.
Billing. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through our payment processor, Stripe. Prices are in US dollars and don't include taxes, which are added where the law requires.
Renewal. A plan renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it. You can cancel any time in Settings → Billing: your plan stays on until the end of the period you've paid for and isn't renewed. Payments aren't refunded for part of a period, except where the law requires.
Team plans are paid by the seat for everyone on the team. Seats follow the team's size, and a change is prorated.
Extra hours. On Pro and Team, recorded hours past the plan's are charged from credit you add in advance. Credit isn't refunded or exchanged for cash, except where the law requires.
Limits. A plan's allowances reset each month. When they're used up, a new recording, question or brief may wait for credit, a paid plan or the next month. A recording already under way is never stopped.
Failed payments. If a payment fails, Stripe tries again for a few days. If it still fails, the plan ends and the account returns to Free. Your notes stay.
Price changes. We'll tell you at least 30 days before a price change, and it applies from your next renewal.
Promotions. A promo code applies as offered when you use it, can end at any time before it's used, and can't be exchanged for cash.
9Government use For Government
Federal, state, local and military employees sign in with their government email address. They start on the Free plan, and the Government plan, paid by the seat, gives more. Nothing in these terms obliges an agency to pay unless it buys seats, and a purchase follows the agency's own procurement rules.
Unclassified only. Light-Lux is for unclassified meetings. Don't use it for classified information or CUI. It isn't FedRAMP authorized, so follow your agency's rules on using outside tools.
Your agency's rules come first. Use Light-Lux only as your agency allows, and keep any government records under your agency's records and disclosure rules.
No endorsement. Using Light-Lux doesn't mean your agency endorses it, and we won't say it does without written permission.
Federal law. For federal agencies and their employees acting in an official capacity, federal law governs these terms, and any term a government user can't accept under applicable law, such as an indemnity, doesn't apply to that user.
10Changes to the Service
We may change or stop features, and we'll try to give notice of changes that matter. Some features described on light-lux.com, such as the Mac app, Hover and screen memory, aren't released yet and may change before they are.
11Ending your use
You can stop using Light-Lux and delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, or to protect the Service or other people.
12No warranty and limit of liability
Light-Lux is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Light-Lux in the 12 months before it, or US $100 if you paid nothing.
13Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, except for federal agencies and their employees as described in Government use.
14Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we'll tell you before it takes effect, and continuing to use Light-Lux means you accept it.
